Syracuse Game Watch, Fall Crawl, Domerpreneurs, Community & USC Buses

Hello San Diego Notre Dame Family:

The next few months will be busy for San Diego Club events, with quite a list of diverse events offering opportunities for you to join fellow Domers socially, professionally and in support of our community. We hope to see you at one!

Syracuse Game Watch
Saturday, October 1st, 9:00 pm (Pacific Time)
This week, our Irish have another winnable game. While we’re a difficult-to-talk-about #100 in scoring defense, the Orange are worse at #105, allowing one more point per game than the Irish, meanwhile the Irish are scoring almost 10 points more per game than ‘cuse. Defensive issues like we have aren’t fixed in one week; nevertheless, the Irish are 13-point favorites, and have something to prove, as individuals and as a team. Come cheer them on with your fellow Irish family members. Kickoff time allows a unique opportunity for a breakfast-game watch as well. We have confirmed that both establishments will be open at 9am for the game! You don’t need to be a club member, ND grad or even San Diego resident to join us, you just need to love ND football. ** Important Note: Prospect Bar has changed its name to Rooftop La Jolla, but the address is the same. Here’s how to find us: Rooftop La Jolla (formerly Prospect Bar & Grill) – Downtown La Jolla • East Village Tavern + Bowl – Downtown San Diego

Halloween Party for Kids at Fr. Joe’s Village
Friday, October 28th, 7:00pm to 10:00pm
Domer Friends and Families, we need your help and support for our next community outreach event. We are looking at 60 to 70 total people with 50 teens and the rest support staff and volunteers. Having fun is authorized, making a positive influence on these challenged teens is welcomed, and giving this group of party goers a few hours of normalcy is the goal. We need food, music, and people the day of the event willing to enjoy
the evening (In costume would be great!). if you’re interested in volunteering or if you would like more information please contact Martin Holguin MBA ’14 at community@ndsandiego.org.

Duke Game Watch, Young Alumni HH, Domerpreneurs do Cider & More!

Hello San Diego Notre Dame Family:

Just like that, it’s officially fall. As the students are now back in school and working hard, we’re also working hard to put together some great events. Read on for the details. We hope to see you at one of them!

Duke Game Watch!
Saturday, September 24th, 12:30 pm (Pacific Time)
This week, we have a battle of ACC 1-win-2-loss teams, but I’m pretty sure that’s where the similarities end. NDs losses come to #21 Texas and #8 MSU, while Duke’s losses were to Wake Forest and Northwestern. The Irish are averaging 38 points per game, while Duke is earning 25.3. Duke is also 0-3 on FGs this year with their Freshman kicker, while ND is 2-3. Duke does have better stats for defense, with 25 tackles for loss (102 yards) vs. the Irish 14 TFL (36 yards). Bottom line, the Irish are 20-point favorites heading into this home game, so it should be an enjoyable victory. Also of note, the Duke club will be joining our Downtown/EVT game watch this week, so we’ll have the opportunity to display the ND spirit first-hand to our ACC competitors. Kickoff time is perfect for having some great food among friends and watching a football game, so please join us at one of our two fantastic locations. You don’t need to be a club member, ND grad or even San Diego resident to join us, you just need to love ND football. Here’s how to find us: Prospect Bar & Grill – Downtown La Jolla • East Village Tavern + Bowl – Downtown San Diego

MSU Game Watch, Finance, Seniors, Community and More!

Hello San Diego Notre Dame Family:

I hope you’re all enjoying the cooler weather in this second week of September. Lots of great events coming up so I’ll get right to it…

Michigan State Game Watch!
Saturday, September 17th, 4:30 pm (Pacific Time)
After winning a … winnable game vs. Nevada, the Irish have another chance to prove themselves against familiar opponent and 12th-ranked Michigan State. MSU has only one game under their belt this year, a 28-13 win over Furman, so hard to draw much conclusion from their season-to-date stats (except perhaps that MSU is not Alabama). In any case, ND-MSU games more often than not provide some great moments – bet that MSU pulls out a trick play or two, so we’ll get to see how this young Irish defense responds. Game time is perfect for having some great food among friends and watching a football game, so please join us at one of our two fantastic locations. You don’t need to be a club member, ND grad or even San Diego resident to join us, you just need to love ND football. Here’s how to find us: Prospect Bar & Grill – Downtown La Jolla • East Village Tavern + Bowl – Downtown San Diego

Nevada Game Watch, ND Finance Group, Domerpreneurs and More!

Hello San Diego Notre Dame Family:

As they say these days, “well, that just happened.” While it’s always tough to lose, the Irish made last week’s game exciting to the end. There are more tough games ahead of us, but as our young defense gains game experience, they’ll no-doubt improve. On the bright side, the offense gave up zero turnovers, and the place-kicking game seems much more of a sure-thing (lucky blocks aside). So, it’s early in the season and there’s lots of excitement ahead. Come out and join us for a game watch or two, and we’d also love to have you at one of our other great events … read on for those details! Before I let you go though, one last note … if you are an ND grad, and would like to help recruit future classes by helping the club with a college fair at a local high school, please drop me an email at admissions.volunteers@ndsandiego.org. Events are almost all in October, with the exception of Carlsbad HS which is coming up on Tuesday, 9/20. Thanks!

Nevada Game Watch!
Saturday, September 10th, 12:30 pm (Pacific Time)
After a tough game on Sunday and a short week between games, our beloved Irish return home to play a beatable Nevada team. In 2015, Nevada was 7-6 with losses to the likes of UNLV and Utah State. Also, this past Saturday, they gave up 383 rushing yards and a 24-10 halftime lead to Cal Poly before squeaking by in OT 30-27. So…I’m not really predicting a nail-biter this week, but I am definitely recommending that you come out and join your local ND family at one of our two amazing game watch locations. You don’t need to be a club member, ND grad or even San Diego resident to join us, you just need to love ND football. Here’s how to find us: Prospect Bar & Grill – Downtown La Jolla • East Village Tavern + Bowl – Downtown San Diego
