Hello San Diego Notre Dame Family:
We’re back to the gridiron this week, and back to our usual game watch locations, see below for that. This week, I’m dropping tonight’s community service Halloween party (figuring if you’re helping you’ve already signed up) but see last week’s post if you’re looking for details. The major excitement this coming week is our annual Hesburgh Lecture on Thursday, featuring Prof. Corey Angst from the Mendoza Business School. There’s also a meet-and-greet happy-hour with Prof. Angst on Wednesday as well, definitely join us for one (or both) of these! For those wondering, we will be doing our annual candy collection and Nativity Prep Thanksgiving turkey projects, I’m just waiting for the details, and I’ll get a post up with details.
Miami Game Watch
Saturday, October 29th, 12:30 pm (Pacific Time)
Our beloved Irish return to the gridiron this week for a matchup against 4-3 Miami. Personally, I have fond memories of watching Holtz’s Irish beat the Hurricanes in dramatic fashion back in 1988 on their way to a national championship…but I digress. If you’re pessimistic about our chances given our less-than-impressive first half, note that the line on the game is nearly even (Miami is currently a 1.5-point favorite). If we have managed to improve on our defense yet again, and if we’ve somehow remembered how to mount an offense like we did the first four games (about 40 points per game), this is a winnable contest for the Irish. Join us at one of our game watch locations to watch the lads start the turnaround. You don’t need to be a club member, ND grad or even San Diego resident to join us, you just need to love ND football. ** Important Note: Prospect Bar has changed its name to Rooftop La Jolla, but the address is the same. Here’s how to find us: Rooftop La Jolla (formerly Prospect Bar & Grill) – Downtown La Jolla • East Village Tavern + Bowl – Downtown San Diego
