Hello San Diego Notre Dame Family:
November arrived quickly didn’t it? This next-to-last month of the year always brings a bevy of great club activities, and this November is no exception. We’ll finish the month with our bi-annual So. Cal matchup against the Trojans, but before we get there (…and your club can literally get you there via our buses to the game, see below), we’ll have a couple of great community service projects, and 2/3 of the football matchups needed to take the Commander in Chief’s trophy. Although I’m not posting the Halloween Candy Collection list again due to length, you can check out Monday’s post if you think you can help with pickup or bagging. For the rest, read below for details…
Navy Game Watch (Rooftop La Jolla Only, no EVT)
Saturday, November 5th, 8:30 am (Pacific Time)
The annual Navy matchup has to be one of the games that makes you nervous every year, and this year there’s reason even beyond the normal concern. Navy (5-2) has some legitimate victories on their resume this year, headlined by a 46-40 win over #6 Houston. They are #5 in the country for rushing offense and for 3rd down conversions. They are, however, #120 for passing offense and tackles for loss, and #103 in stopping opponents’ red zone conversions, so they’re rather one-dimensional offensively and don’t have a stellar defense. So, expect a shootout, and hope that our defense continues their recent progress. If we can stop the Middies, we have a pretty good shot at adding another victory in our quest for 0.500. This is an early game, and given the unusual hour, we’ll only have one location to join your local ND family to watch the game. No excuses, you’ll get an extra hour of sleep Saturday night due to the time change, so set your alarm and join us in La Jolla! Here’s how to find us: Rooftop La Jolla (formerly Prospect Bar & Grill) – Downtown La Jolla
