Community Service Opportunitiy

  • Organizations in Training (OIT) Fundraiser:
Shane Walton’s (ND ’02, 2002 Consensus All-American, Football) non-profit, Organizations in Training (OIT), is holding its inaugural fundraising and awareness event on August 13th from 3 – 6pm at the Karl Strauss Tasting room. OIT provides coaching and mentoring to youth, parents and families experiencing extreme adversity, and training to the schools and organization personnel that serve these populations. OIT is looking to raise money to continue this work with the Monarch School which serves homeless youth in San Diego. Shane was instrumental in supporting the Notre Dame Club of San Diego’s annual charity golf tournament for a number of years and was responsible for bringing to the Club speakers like Justin Tuck, Aaron Taylor, Rocket Ismail and Ryan Grant. Shane would love the Notre Dame community’s support with his non-profit. The event is free of charge. Beer will be provided by Karl Strauss and BBQ compliments of Cali Comfort.
