Domers often find much in common with each other, which is why our alumni reputation is legendary for sticking together, supporting one another, and continuing to be loyal fans of the University. There are a number of ways to get to know our local alums. Here is an opportunity to strengthen your bonds with fellow Notre Dame family members, including subway alums, parents of alumni, and supporters of the University. Read the profiles below to get to know your fellow alums living in San Diego and even to find fellow Domers you may want to connect with. For example, if you are in need of a lawyer, financial adviser, or doctor, we have quite a few alumni working in those professions. There is no better place to start your search than among fellow Notre Dame family members.

. I am a life long fan of Notre Dame, serve as a Board Member for the local Notre Dame club, and host two Notre Dame Summer Service Student interns each summer. I invite you to get involved with the local Boys & Girls Club of San Diego. Outside of work, I like to fish, hike, golf and spend time with my family.
Dr. Tony Alessandra
‘69 – CEO of Assessment Business Center
, author of 27 books and featured in over 100 audio/video programs and films. Recognized by Meetings & Conventions Magazine as “one of America’s most electrifying speakers,” Tony was inducted into the Speakers Hall of Fame in 1985, the Legends of the Speaking Profession in 2009, the Top 5 Marketing Speakers in 2010 and 2011 and the Sales Hall of Fame in 2010.
’75. Manager of Strategic Partnerships, NBC San Diego. Lived in the Morrissey Manor, majored in American Studies. Spent most of career in TV – comedy & sports production, news writing but mostly in sales. An East Coast guy who’s very happy in San Diego. Enjoy running, biking, hiking. An ND football win or loss alters my mood all weekend. My wife works for ND and our daughter is also a grad.

– I majored in Finance, lived in Pangborn & Alumni Halls, co-founded the Entrepreneur Club of Notre Dame, and studied abroad in Australia and Europe. I have a CPA, worked at Arthur Andersen, and helped venture companies prepare their financials to raise capital before I pursued my passion for sharing unique aspects of San Diego.
’90 – Product Program Manager at Nokia’s smartphone R&D center. I earned an Electrical Engineering degree, a USAF Commission with Air Force ROTC, and lived in Alumni Hall. I served as a Communications Officer during tours at Hanscom AFB in MA and the Pentagon. I earned an MBA at UCLA (‘00). ’00 – Larimer Design – San Diego Architect
– I majored in Architecture, lived in Morrissey, Keough and Fisher Halls, and studied abroad in Rome. I’ve designed everything from high-end custom homes and retail spaces to arenas and baseball stadiums. My work has won a number of awards and I have provided expert commentary on ESPN’s Outside the Lines program regarding baseball stadium safety.
’73 – President of HireTech
, an Engineering and technical employment agency in RB. BS Biology and NROTC, Stanford Hall. Navy Nuclear Power Program, retired as Commander in ’95. Married to Bobbye for 30 years. Son Brian is a grad student at Loyola University. Lived in Rancho Penasquitos for 18 years. On the board of the Rancho Family YMCA.
’96 – Latino Affairs Manager, San Diego Padres – Communications and Theatre major from St. Edward’s Hall. I oversee Padres marketing and outreach programs to the San Diego-Baja California Hispanic community. I am also a motivational speaker and author of Swinging for the Fences (Tate Publishing). ’75 – Rancho Penasquitos Dentist
. Majored in pre-professional studies and lived in Fisher Hall. Attended Fairleigh Dickinson Dental School and served in the Navy. I’ve been active coaching baseball and soccer and currently teach canoe training to scout leaders. My wife Helen and I have one son Peter, who is a student at Notre Dame and in the Marching Band. I’m a board member for our club and was the previous President.
’00 – Environmental Manager for San Diego Ship Repair, which works on naval vessels. I majored in Science-Business with an emphasis in environmental science and lived in P.E. I previously spent 5 years at the San Diego County Air Pollution Control District writing and implementing air quality regulations. Currenlty reside in West Clairemont with my husband Peter ’00 and two sons Daniel and James.
’11 – I majored in Accounting, and lived in Stanford Hall. I was a member of the 2011 national championship fencing team, and a four time All-American. While at Notre Dame I did business development consulting for a start-up medical device companies.
