Come join us at the La Jolla Country Club on Saturday, December 17th at 11:30 AM for a morning of Mass, brunch, Christmas music, and holiday cheer! Family and friends are welcome to attend. This brunch had over 80 club members attend last year, and a good time was had by all.

Regular club members – $39.99
Regular non-members – $45.99
Young alums (’02 and later) and current students – $26.99

For additional information about the event and to register, please visit our club website: http://ndsandiego.org/activities/annual-christmas-brunch/.

We are also very fortunate that our own alum, Tony Alessandra ’69, will serve as emcee at this year’s Christmas Brunch. Tony began speaking professionally while still a doctoral student in the late 70′s. He was inducted into the National Speakers Association Hall of Fame in 1985 and is a member of the Speaker’s Roundtable – a group of 20 of the world’s most recognized professional speakers. Dr. Alessandra engages his style as both a performer and a professor. Tony grew up on the streets of New York City, where he intuitively began his study of people and their behaviors, their diversity and their loyalties. His sense of humor developed from those humble beginnings as much as his ambition to succeed. He has a street-wise, college-smart perspective on business, having worked his way to success as an entrepreneur, business author, and keynote speaker.

Jobs Board Update – Nov 21, 2011

Christine Lyke ’79 will be in town from Tuesday, December 6 until Sunday, December 11 as she makes plans to relocate from Illinois where she has worked as an administrative professional and served as a local club president. She would appreciate the opportunity to meet with anyone that week to start making connections and find potential job opportunities. Please reach out to her at (217) 493-4746 • lykend79 [at] aol [dot] com. You can also check out her resume posted a while back.

I recently posted the resumes for graduating Law students Kareem Salem and Matt Thelen on our Jobs Board. Last summer, Kareem worked as a Summer Associate at a firm in Indianapolis while Matt worked as a Law Clerk in Pasadena. Both have lived in San Diego and are looking for entry-level opportunities in the area. Take a look at their profiles on the Jobs Board to see if you, or someone you know, might be able to lend them a hand.

Engineering Jobs – Don’t forget to check the job boards for new engineering related jobs at Nokia (provided by Ken Stimeling ’90) and through HireTech (provided by Chris Lussier ’73).

To get more details on these new postings and to see those posted in previous weeks, visit our Notre Dame Club of San Diego Jobs Board.

Young Alumni Survey – Classes 2002-2011

Barron Nydam ’11 and Ellen McCready ’11 recently volunteered to serve as the Young Alumni coordinators and have organized events in Encinitas, La Jolla, and Old Town over the past three months.

Start developing a network of friends you can count on here in San Diego for years to come. It is well worth making the time to meet your fellow young alums. In years past, young alum events would sometimes attract 100 or more.

Barron & Ellen have prepared a survey for young alums that will take you just a minute or two to fill out. Let them know what it will take to persuade you to attend the next event.

You may contact the young alum coordinators directly by emailing youngalumni@ndsandiego.org

If you just arrived in San Diego this year, please submit your contact information to our Membership Coordinator.

GO IRISH!
